BIOfutures 06/06/23

In the next BIOfutures IG session we’ll explore how leading-edge research and development in biomaterials, biodesign, and biotechnology is opening up new ideas in how we address critical issues of both human and environmental health. Joining me in this session will be Veronica Ranner.

Veronica is a transdisciplinary artist and designer, who is currently an Assistant Professor at Nanyang Technological University, School of Art, Design and Media (NTU ADM) in Singapore. She founded the Polyphonic Futures Lab, which explores entanglements between posthumanism, design, science, and ecology through biodesign, biofabrication, and regenerative design practices. Her work critically examines the ethics of futuring concerning the bio-digital — a burgeoning domain and converging knowledge area where computational thinking meets biological matter. She has been exhibited internationally at the Israel Museum, China Technology Museum, Biennale du Design Saint- Etienne, the National Museum in Stockholm, the V&A, Design Museum Ghent, and the Futurium in Berlin.
