Building Ecologically Inspired Architectural Resilience to Wildfire
Date & Time: July 22, 2026 @ 12:00 pm - 2:00 pm BST + 15 min Q&A
I’m delighted to have teamed up with the world’s leading professional development platform to deliver a webinar on building ecologically-inspired architectural resilience to wildfire.CPD accredited with associations including Architects Registration Board, Chartered Institute of Architectural Technologists, Royal Institute of British Architects, and Royal Institute of the Architects of Ireland, this 2hr session will explore why wildfire resilience must become a core design consideration rather than simply a compliance exercise.
During the session I will explain how changing climate conditions and development patterns are increasing wildfire risk, and how architects, planners, and designers can respond through integrated, systems-based approaches. Participants will gain insights into bio-inspired design, planning, material selection, and community-scale resilience to create safer, more adaptable, and ecologically symbiotic and environmentally responsive built environments.
Key Topics
Wildfire risk and the changing built environment
Wildland–urban interface planning challenges
Fire behaviour and design implications
Biomimicry and fire-adapted ecosystem principles
Site planning for wildfire resilience
Building form, envelope design, and ignition pathways
Passive survivability and resilient architecture
Infrastructure resilience during wildfire events
